How Sapthan Pay keeps you safe
We built Sapthan Pay to hold your bank details as if they weren't ours to lose. Here is every protection, in plain language.
Sapthan Pay is in pre-release testing. Right now it connects to test banks in a sandbox and no real money moves. Join the waitlist to be first in when it opens.
Your bank stays in control
- We never see your banking password. You log in on your bank's own page; we receive a permission, not your credentials.
- Every payment is approved at your bank with its strong customer authentication. Nothing moves without it.
- We never hold your money. Payments go directly from your bank to the payee.
- Payment limits of €500 per payment and €2,000 per day, enforced on our servers so they can't be changed from a phone.
Your phone
- App lock with your phone's fingerprint, face, pattern or PIN, re-locking after a short time in the background.
- Screenshots and screen recording are blocked, and your balance is hidden from the recent-apps preview.
- Encrypted storage using your phone's own security hardware.
- Integrity checks: payments are only accepted from the genuine app on an unmodified phone.
Your account
- One active phone at a time. Signing in on a new phone signs the old one out, so a stolen password alone isn't enough.
- Sign in your way: email and password, or Google.
- Transaction PIN protects sensitive changes like linking a bank, stored only as a one-way hash that can't be reversed.
Your data
- We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
- App analytics never include your amounts, balances or account numbers.
- You choose which accounts to share, can remove a bank any time, and can delete your account from the Profile screen.
Full details are in our privacy policy and terms.
Honest limits
No security is absolute. The phone protections rely on a phone behaving normally and can be defeated on a modified device. That's why payments also require your bank's own approval.
