Sapthan Pay — Terms of Service
1. Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Sapthan AI and IT Solutions Private Limited, a company incorporated in India on 14 July 2026 ("Sapthan Pay", "we", "us").
Registered office: H.No. 5-3-28/244, Plot-244, Sai Nagar Colony, Boduppal, Ghatkesar, Hyderabad, Telangana 500092, India
CIN: U62099TS2026PTC219322
By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
2. What Sapthan Pay is — and what it is not
Sapthan Pay helps people living outside their home country operate their home-country bank account: seeing balances, paying bills, recharging phone numbers, repaying loans, and sending money.
We are not a bank. We do not hold your money, we do not issue accounts, and we do not lend. We do not hold a deposit-taking licence in any country.
Every movement of money is executed by a licensed provider — your own bank under its authorisation framework, a regulated account-information provider, a bill-payment network, or a licensed top-up provider. We connect you to them and present the result. The provider's record is the regulatory record; ours mirrors it for your convenience, and where the two differ, theirs prevails.
Nothing in the app is investment, tax or financial advice.
3. Your account
You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract. Give accurate information and keep it current. One account per person.
You are responsible for activity through your account. Keep your password, your transaction PIN and your device secure, and tell us promptly at business@sapthan.com if you believe someone else has access.
Device binding. Your verified identity is tied to the device you verified it on. Signing in from another device requires verification again. This is deliberate: it stops a stolen password alone from moving your money.
4. Connecting a bank account
You authorise a connection on your bank's own page, opened in your phone's browser. By design we do not receive your banking password, PIN or one-time code.
You may withdraw that authorisation at any time, with us and with your bank. Authorisations also expire on their own under the rules of the framework they were granted through, and you will need to renew them to keep seeing your data.
We show what the bank reports to us. Balances and transactions come from third parties, may be delayed, and every balance in the app is labelled with when it was last fetched.
5. Payments
5.1 You authorise each payment
Every payment requires your PIN. We do not debit anything automatically. Scheduled bills alert you on the due date and you confirm each one. There is no silent auto-debit anywhere in the app, in any country.
5.2 Check the details before you confirm
You are responsible for the payee details you enter — account number, UPI ID, phone number, consumer number, loan reference. We cannot recover money sent to the wrong recipient because the details you entered were wrong. The confirmation screen exists to be read.
5.3 Limits
Limits apply per transaction and per day, and are shown in the app before you confirm. Your bank and the partner networks apply their own limits, which may be lower.
We may reduce limits, or refuse a transaction, immediately where we see a risk of fraud or where a provider or regulator requires it. Changes that are in our favour follow the notice period in section 13.
5.4 When a payment does not complete
Where a payment does not complete, we return the amount to the source account, including any fee we charged — we do not retain a fee on a payment that did not go through.
Where funds have already left for a provider network, the reversal depends on that provider and may take several working days. We will tell you what we expect and keep you updated.
If the app closes unexpectedly during a payment, it checks the outcome when you next open it. Where the payment did not reach the provider, it is reversed. Where it did, we complete it and show it in your history rather than reversing something that succeeded.
5.5 Payments that cannot be reversed
Mobile top-ups and bill payments are delivered to a third party. Once delivered, we cannot reverse them. A top-up sent to a mistyped number cannot be recovered.
5.6 Cross-border transfers
Where money may travel is determined by law, not by us, and it is not the same in both directions:
- From UK and EEA accounts — cross-border transfers may be made, executed by your own bank.
- From Indian accounts — outbound cross-border transfers are not available. Money leaving India must pass through an Authorised Dealer bank under FEMA and the Liberalised Remittance Scheme, and we are not one. An Indian account can still pay Indian bills, recharge Indian numbers, repay loans and receive money.
Cross-border transfers require identity verification before the first one.
The countries and services we support change as we add providers. What is available to you is what the app offers you at the time.
6. Fees
We show every fee before you confirm, and you will not be charged a fee you were not shown. Our current fees are published at sapthanpay.com/fees.
Where a payment involves converting currency, the rate shown at the moment you confirm is the rate applied, and our margin on that rate is disclosed to you at the same time.
Your own bank may charge you separately. We neither control nor receive those charges.
7. Identity verification, fraud and sanctions
Some features require verifying your identity, and cross-border transfers always do. This is an anti-money-laundering requirement, not a preference of ours.
We screen accounts and transactions for fraud, money laundering and sanctions exposure. We may refuse, delay, suspend or reverse a transaction, and suspend or close an account, where the law requires it or where we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, money laundering, sanctions exposure or unlawful use. Where we are legally permitted to tell you why, we will.
8. What you must not do
- Use the app unlawfully, or to move the proceeds of anything unlawful.
- Use someone else's identity, or let someone else use your account.
- Attempt to bypass the PIN, the limits, or any other control in the app.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, or run it on a device modified to defeat its security. The app detects common cases and may restrict money movement.
- Use automated means to access the service.
9. Beta and pre-release features
Some features are marked as testing, beta or preview. They are provided as is, may change or be withdrawn, and may not work as described. Do not rely on them for anything important.
10. Availability
We aim to keep the app working and do not promise it always will. It depends on banks, provider networks, app stores and mobile networks we do not control. We may suspend the service for maintenance and will give notice where we reasonably can.
11. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for:
- money sent to the wrong recipient because of details you entered;
- a bank, biller or provider network failing, delaying or refusing a transaction;
- losses caused by someone using your account because credentials or a device were not kept secure;
- losses arising from a device modified to defeat its security;
- indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profit, revenue or anticipated savings.
Where money has left your account and has not reached its destination, our obligation is to recover it or refund it. That obligation stands regardless of anything else in this section.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.
12. Force majeure
Neither of us is liable for failure or delay caused by something outside our reasonable control — including a failure of banking, telecommunications or internet infrastructure, an act of a regulator, a change in law, industrial action, natural disaster, epidemic, war or civil unrest. Our obligation to safeguard and return your money is not suspended by this section.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Material changes are notified in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law, by a regulator, or to address a security or fraud risk — in which case we make it immediately and tell you as soon as we can.
Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, you may close your account under section 14 at no cost.
14. Closing your account
You may close your account at any time by emailing business@sapthan.com.
We may close your account with 30 days' notice, or immediately where section 7 applies or where you have materially breached these terms.
Closing your account does not end obligations already incurred. We retain transaction records for as long as financial record-keeping law requires — see the Privacy Policy.
15. Intellectual property
The app, the Sapthan Pay name and logo, and everything in them are owned by us or our licensors. You get a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app for its intended purpose, and nothing more. Do not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from it, and do not use our name or logo without written permission.
16. Third-party links and services
The app may link to a bank, a biller or another third party. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their services or their handling of your data. Their terms apply when you are with them.
17. Complaints and disputes
Email business@sapthan.com. We aim to acknowledge within 3 working days and to resolve within 30 days.
If your complaint concerns a payment executed by a provider, we will tell you which provider and help you reach them, since the regulated record sits with them.
If you are dissatisfied with our final response, you may pursue the routes available to you under the law of your country of residence.
18. General
Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest continues in force.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we do not lose it.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a group company or an acquirer of our business, provided your rights are not reduced; we will tell you if we do.
Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us on this subject and replace anything said before.
Survival. Sections 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18 and 19 survive termination.
Language. These terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience; the English version governs.
19. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident in the UK or the EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
